What is anterior vocal feminization?
Anterior voice feminization, also known as cricothyroidotomy or cricothyroidoplasty, is a surgical technique that increases vocal cord tension by modifying the laryngeal structure through a minimal external incision in the neck.
Through a small opening in the skin of the neck, surgeons access the cricoid cartilage and thyroid cartilage. They are then approximated or sutured together, which changes the position of the vocal cords, increasing their tension and, as a result, making the voice higher pitched.

Recovery and aftercare
