It is a surgical technique that seeks to masculinize the chest while preserving the areola and nipple in their original position. Unlike other more invasive techniques, this one allows the mammary gland to be removed through a minimal incision around the areola. It is especially suitable for people with small or moderate breasts and good skin elasticity. Its main advantage is the natural result and the barely visible scar.
Nipple loss is extremely rare with the subcutaneous technique, as the areola and nipple are not separated from the tissue that nourishes them. Their vascular and nerve pedicle is maintained, which greatly reduces the risk.
In cases of very large breasts or skin with poor elasticity, a different technique may be recommended, but with the subcutaneous technique, the risk is exceptional.

This means that it is ideal for patients whose nipple-areola complex is already in an anatomically appropriate place.
