Forehead Feminization
Forehead feminization reduces the bony prominence of the forehead and frees up the brow area, giving you a rounder forehead and a more open look. Dr. Jesús Lago operates at Clínica 3 de Mayo in Madrid, for patients from the UK, Ireland and beyond.

How Forehead Feminization Works
We contour the forehead bone and soften the brow ridge above the eyes. If the prominence comes from the front wall of the frontal sinus, we reshape that too. Everything is done through a single incision along the hairline, running the full width of the forehead. Through it, we can contour the forehead, lift the brows and their outer tails, shorten the forehead and round off the hairline.
Stitches come out after 7 to 10 days. You will see the final result between 3 and 6 months, and it lasts.

Our Complication Rates
We perform one facial feminization surgery (FFS) a month, counting forehead, jaw and nose procedures together. We regularly update our complication rates by procedure and by specialty, and you can see them on our dedicated page.

We assess every request on its own merits: the need, the expected benefit weighed against the risks, your health, and how well you understand what cannot be reversed.

The price covers your full preoperative assessment, your medical and anesthetic review, the operation and hospital stay, follow-up after surgery and, if needed, an ultrasound or blood test. It also includes everything done through the same incision: contouring the forehead, the brow lift, raising the brow tails, shortening the forehead and rounding off the hairline.
It is for trans women whose forehead bone is noticeably prominent. It is also for anyone who would like a smoother, rounder forehead and has realistic expectations of what surgery can change. You do not need to be on hormone therapy for us to operate.
The scar follows your hairline, just where the hair starts on your forehead. It stays hidden and is barely visible once healed.
It is more uncomfortable than painful. Expect a feeling of pressure across the forehead and some swelling around the eyes for the first few days. Stitches come out after 7 to 10 days.
Complications are rare. They include hematoma (a collection of blood under the skin), prolonged inflammation, temporary numbness of the scalp, infection, minor irregularities in the bone and temporary hair loss.
Yes. Once the forehead bone has been reshaped, the change is permanent.
Usually not: you can continue your hormone therapy before the operation. We confirm this for each patient at consultation.
You can go back to office or remote work at around 10 to 14 days. Gentle exercise can start after 3 to 4 weeks, and strenuous exercise after 6 weeks. Avoid wearing a helmet or putting any pressure on your forehead for 8 weeks.
No. The €6,950 also covers the brow lift and raising the brow tails. Dr. Jesús Lago does it all in one operation, through the same hairline incision.
See eye and brow feminizationBoth are possible. Dr. Jesús Lago performs forehead feminization on its own or as part of a facial feminization surgery (FFS) plan, alongside feminizing rhinoplasty, jaw feminization or hairline lowering.
See jaw feminizationYes. The same incision used to treat the forehead also lifts the brow tails, with no extra procedure or scar.
