What is included in the price?

The price of a tummy tuck covers your preoperative assessment, the evaluation consultation, the operation and hospital stay, follow-up appointments and a follow-up ultrasound.

Where will the scar be?

Your scar follows the pattern agreed at your consultation: a horizontal scar just above the pubic area for a standard tummy tuck, or a horizontal scar plus a vertical midline scar for the fleur-de-lis. In both cases, it is hidden by your underwear.

Is there an age limit for a tummy tuck?

No. What matters is the condition of your abdominal wall and how elastic your skin is, which we assess at your consultation.

Can I have a baby after a tummy tuck?

Dr. Jesús Lago recommends waiting until you have finished having children, as a future pregnancy can change the result.

Do I need to be at a stable weight before surgery?

Yes. Reaching a stable weight first stops later weight changes from altering the result on your tummy.

What if fluid or blood collects under the skin?

After a tummy tuck, a pocket of fluid (a seroma) or blood (a hematoma) can form. We drain it on site at Clínica 3 de Mayo with an ultrasound-guided needle, at no extra charge.

How long do I need to wear the compression garment?

For the ten days of recovery and beyond: we will tell you exactly how long at your consultation, depending on how you are healing. The garment reduces swelling and supports your tummy while it heals.

How We Perform a Tummy Tuck

It all depends on how much skin needs to be removed. If the excess is limited to the lower tummy, a horizontal incision above the pubic area is enough. If it extends higher, for example after major weight loss or several pregnancies, we add a vertical incision: this is the fleur-de-lis technique.

We make a horizontal incision just above the pubic area, so the scar stays hidden under your underwear. We then tighten the stomach muscles, flattening the front and drawing in the sides. Vibration-assisted liposculpture completes the operation, smoothing the contour and defining the muscles.
