Rhinomodelling is a procedure that consists of modifying the angles of the nose with filler material, ideal for those patients who have a slight aesthetic defect and do not wish to undergo rhinoplasty. It is performed in a consultation room, is simple and achieves very good results by modifying the incorrect angles to give the nose a straighter appearance. It also allows the tip to be raised to achieve harmony with the face.
The filler materials we use belong to the reabsorbable materials, mainly cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which lasts for approximately one year and allows us to work safely. Permanent materials should not be used in rhinomodelling as they are difficult to remove in the long term and can produce defects in the nose 10 to 15 years after they have been placed, and these defects are very difficult to treat.

Rhinomodelling is appropriate for those patients who do not have a significant deformity in their nose, but wish to modify their appearance without undergoing surgery. Before undergoing this technique, the patient must understand its limitations and the information provided by the specialist. It is appropriate for softening the angles and harmonising the face.
Rhinomodelling can be performed under truncal anaesthesia, that is, by numbing the nerves that reach the nose, in order to work in a comfortable and convenient way for the patient.
The results are very good when the defects are not very pronounced. It is ideal for lifting the tip and smoothing the hump of the nose.
Rhinomodelling with temporary materials (cross-linked hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite) carries no special risks beyond those associated with any filling material, the material is biocompatible and is reabsorbed after approximately one year. At our centre we do not recommend rhinomodelling with permanent materials due to the risk of the appearance of defects in the long term, as these are very difficult to correct.
Yes, rhinomodelling can be repeated as many times as the patient wishes, either at the beginning of the procedure to continue correcting some parts that have not been treated deeply enough or when the hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite has been reabsorbed.
Salvage surgeries are surgical treatments aimed at treating or modifying complications or negative results of a previous surgical treatment performed at another centre.
Below we will try to clarify some of the doubts that may arise before coming to our office and that may help you to make your decision.
